A smooth, medium-bodied, consistent coffee with a smoky aroma and a nice floral aftertaste. Volcanic soil and high altitude are the keys to this superior, uniquely hard bean's flavor and aroma. Grown by the members of the FEDECOCAGUA Co-operative in Guatemala.
"Prior to selling our coffee at the Fair Trade price, we did not have much of a chance to survive. Now we see the light at the end of the tunnel." Marcos M. Perez, FEDECOCAGUA member.
Estabilshed in 1969, FEDEDCAGUA is a coopeative organization with 20,000 members. Seventy percent of co-op members are indigenous groups from various regions of Guatemala, including Huehuetenango, Coban, Verapaces, Retalhuleu, San Marcos and Zacapa.

Very rich and robust dark roast. Will be buying again.

I'm very pleased with this coffee and it arrived promptly. The flavor is not quite as robust as the best I've had, but still quite good. And it's a true French Roast, so if you don't like it dark, don't buy this. I decided to try it because of Providence's explicit commitment to Catholic Social Teaching and CRS Fair Trade. I'll probably buy from them again.
