Mild with sweet notes of cherry – flowery aroma with a medium body.
“The higher price we get for the coffee we sell on Fair Trade terms has allowed us to cover our operating costs, providing for families, and keep our children in school.” —Julian Auca, Oro Verde Technical Coordinator
Oro Verde (Cooperativa Agraria Cafetalera Oro Verde) is comprised of 300 small-scale coffee producers located in Lamas, San Martin. During the 1980’s, terrorism and drug trafficking affected this poor, mountainous region and in the early 90s, the United Nations helped farmers to organize themselves into democratic cooperatives.

we very much enjoy the Peru coffee in the morning as well as later in the day. It is the type of coffee that provides a different taste experience depending on how much coffee you use but never thick or overpowering. It drinks well, is not bitter, and doesn't leave an undesirable aftertaste in your mouth

of the 6 varieties we sampled this should have gotten 6 or 7 stars but the program wouldn't allow it. so very smooth, creamy almost and a great undercurrent of flavor.

I learned something about roasts. A little darker in appearance that what I expected a light roast would be, however this is a superb light roast coffee with medium body, and great taste that stays with the coffee with no lasting tastes in your mouth after drinking. I would definitely get this coffee again.
